Around since 2010, this Houston-based quartet has taken their mix of a “rootsy stomp of the Southern states with the trippy swoon of the West Coast” across the country and back. They cite Bob Dylan as a “huge influence” and also add Led Zeppelin and Tom Petty in the mix, plus their fellow Texan musicians, Midnight River Choir, along with other classic 60s and 70s bands and contemporary rootsy groups. The Brothers Lankford of Mason, Barrett and Lincoln, along with friend Caleb Pace, make up the band with instrumentation coming at you as a basic two guitars, bass and drums setup. They’ll do a bunch of originals, including tunes from 2015’s Water Walkers, but you never know what else might pop out of them in an evening of song. This event is hosted by your friends of the Red Beard Brigade, just so you know you’re getting the right stuff, with an opening slot by the young, talented and all-around good music guy, Zack Fedor.
