This lecture will cover 5 underutilized genealogical websites.
1. USGenWeb - comprehensive website covering every US State and county
2. Daughters of the American Revolution - The DAR website Includes an index of unpublished genealogical materials collected by DAR members, such as bible and cemetery transcriptions.
3. SteveMorse.org - One step portal for online genealogy. Provides flexible search capability for many of the most popular genealogy websites.
4. Gendisasters - "Events that touched our ancestors’ lives”-- Created for the purpose of recording these disasters in the form of the newspaper articles that covered them.
5. Internet Archive - is a non-profit library of millions of free books, movies, software, music, websites, and more.
