I put out the word that I wanted to hear about events with a ‘pink’ theme (supporting breast cancer awareness and research) --- here are two more.

This Thursday October 8th The Lincoln Land Community College Loggers volleyball team is hosting its fourth annual "pink" game. The game starts at 6 p.m. The Loggers (24-6) and Lewis and Clark Trailblazers (7-14) will go pink in Cass Gymnasium on LLCC's main campus, 5250 Shepherd Road, Springfield. The public is invited. Admission is $2 for students or fans wearing pink or $3 for general admission. Proceeds from game admissions and additional donations will benefit breast cancer support services at the Carol Jo Vecchie Women's Center at St. John's Hospital.

And this from our friends at FitClub. During October, miles recorded on the pink treadmills at any FitClub location will generate a donation to the American Cancer Society. So there’s the challenge: members and non-members alike should get to a FitClub location and start racking up the miles.
