"What Springfield really needs is a good party!"
Audrey Kondelis' exuberance and excitement is evident upon meeting her. She is full of ideas to make parties as vibrant and fun as possible. "Pole Barn Chic is a one-stop shop," notes Kondelis, who can take care of all party details with her in-house staff, including flowers, balloon structures and other decorations, caterers, bartenders, photographers and a DJ.
"I just want to make people happy, make them smile and laugh," says Kondelis, on her business goals. "Being able to do that for people means a lot to me. I know how important it is to be happy, and remain happy."
From her start in March 2020 with a Mardi Gras-themed birthday party, including a Grammy-nominated Zydeco band from New Orleans, Kondelis has orchestrated a variety of parties to liven up Springfield, from small, intimate events to grand occasions.
Kondelis is in the process of building her own venue, with permits awaiting signatures before breaking ground, hopefully in the near future. Her 12,000-square-foot venue will be a pole barn on the outside with chic design on the inside, to reflect her company name.
Set on eight acres on South Sixth Street off Toronto Road, the building is scheduled for completion in the first half of 2022. Bookings for summer 2022 events will begin as soon as ground is broken for construction. The building will include seating for 500 people, a dance floor and smaller rooms for more intimate parties.
"We have so much fun coming to this town," says Kondelis.
