“Here and Not Here” is a Springfield Art Association-hosted exhibition that appropriately spans two of the SAA’s exhibition spaces – the M.G. Nelson Gallery and The DEMO Project. This contemporary art exhibit features large-scale, mixed-media installations by Kentucky-based artist Cody Arnall, sculptural work by Iowa’s Edward Kelley, plus digital and 3-D collages by Chicagoan Meagan Stroech. Through their work, each artist will present an interpretation of the space around them and explore how individual and shared perceptions of history, geography and biography shape the context in which we view these spaces. Both venues will offer complimentary drinks and appetizers throughout the reception. The portion of “Here and Not Here” housed by The DEMO Project will be on display through Saturday, Aug. 29, available for viewing on Saturday afternoons from 1-4 p.m. The portion of the exhibit housed in the M.G. Nelson Gallery will also be on display through Saturday, Aug. 29, and available for viewing from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays.
