The Old Capitol Holiday Walks are starting a little early this year to give you plenty of time to shop and enjoy all of the fun. Of course, extra precautions are being taken to keep you and your family safe, so be patient with downtown businesses as they have mandated safety guidelines they have to follow. But, with so much to do, you will hardly notice. You can see Santa in his office checking his naughty and nice list, and your child can get on the Santa Hotline to say hello while seeing him through the glass. Red Gate Farm will be providing free horse-drawn carriage rides, and on the Old Capitol Plaza you will find the community Christmas tree decked out in its holiday finest. The locally owned downtown shops are pulling out all the stops for this most magical time of the year – be sure to snag a selfie in front of some of their decorated storefronts – and stop by The Pharmacy Gallery and Art Space to see the gift items member artists have created. Downtown Springfield, Inc. is hosting this holiday happening. Visit their Facebook page for more information.
