Springfield Art Association’s Personalities Paint, April 20 from 6-9 p.m., is a fun party for a good cause. Art exhibit openings are always a blast, but at this one you can rub elbows with some of the most well-known local personalities and perhaps take home their work. Their paintings, on 10-inch by 10-inch canvases in celebration of the SAA’s 100-year anniversary, will be on display and for auction or sale during the reception. A few of the hometown celebrities include Illinois Times contributor and musician Tom Irwin, radio hosts Amie Meneghetti and Bob Murray, Liz Willis Soldwedel, Lynelle Loftus, Grace Luttrell Nanavati and Hope School kids. New this year is also art by professional artists Bill Crook, Charlie Houska, Felicia Olin, Sheri Ramsey and Janet Seitz Carlson. Jane and Phil Locascio chaired the soirée.
