Grammy-nominated blues guitarist Eric Bibb takes to the stage as the University of Illinois Springfield Kitchen Sink Series continues on Saturday, Jan. 28, in the UIS Studio Theatre in the PAC Building. Nominated for nine W.C. Handy Blues Music Awards and winner of the Best Newcomer title in the British Blues Awards, Bibb has been described as “a total original.” Born and raised in New York and later settling in Stockholm, Bibb has played major festivals and shows worldwide, including opening for Ray Charles in 2002. His 2008 album, Get Onboard, was produced with featured guest performances by Bonnie Raitt and Ruthie Foster. Bibb is joined by noted singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Michael Jerome Browne, Canadian Solo Folk Artist of the Year in 2008 and International Blues Challenge Semi-Finalist.
