The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum, in conjunction with the Mid-West Family Broadcasting Group and the Illinois State Museum, is producing daily radio spots called “bicentennial minutes” which will be broadcast throughout 2018 to help celebrate Illinois’ 200th birthday. The spots will highlight key people, events and dates in Illinois history, spotlighting triumphs such as Lincoln’s election as well as tragedies such as the sinking of the S.S. Eastland, which killed 844 people.  The spots will be available to radio stations across the state via the Illinois Broadcasters Association.
