An alcohol-free celebration of arts

Join the Springfield Area Arts Council for the 32nd annual First Night Springfield celebration featuring regional and local artists and performers spanning 11 stages at five venues. The festivities begin with complimentary children’s performances and activities inside Springfield High School from 1-4 p.m. followed by a concert on the Barton Theater organ by Mark Gifford from 4:15-5:45 p.m., also at Springfield High School. Additional music, dance, improv comedy, drama, storytelling, magic and art performances will occur from 5-11:15 p.m. inside the Hoogland Center for the Arts, the Lincoln Home Visitors Center, Kari Bedford Photography Studio and Lincoln Library, and a celebratory fireworks display will take place at 8 p.m. from the intersection of Fourth Street and Capitol Avenue. First Night Springfield is an alcohol-free event. Admission to First Night Springfield is by wristband, and wristbands cost $18 in advance (must purchase by Dec. 30) for adults or $20 at the door and cost $5 for youth ages 5-18. First Night Springfield wristbands are available for purchase at all Bank of Springfield locations, the Hoogland Center for the Arts or online at http://hcfta.org.
