The Springfield Theatre Centre is proud to present the “powerful pop opera” Miss Saigon Oct. 16-18 and 23-25 at the Hoogland Center for the Arts. The Tony Award-winning musical is the 11th longest running Broadway musical in musical theater history. The musical’s creators, Claude Michel Schonberg and Alain Boublil, are also recognized for their collaboration on Les Miserables. One of the most stunning theatrical spectaculars of all time, set in Saigon during the Vietnam War, Miss Saigon tells the love story of an American GI solider and Vietnamese woman. The pair fall in love and marry, but are separated during the fall of Vietnam. Years later, the man returns to Vietnam and learns the horrifying truth surrounding his bride. Tickets are available at http://hcfta.org or by calling the Hoogland box office at 523-2787.
