Calling all cycling enthusiasts! The Capital City Century has expanded to provide a whole weekend of fun, including the first-ever Loops-A-Palooza, a community cycling festival featuring music by popular local band The Loops. In addition to offering cyclists packet pickup services as well as a last-minute chance to register for the 46th Annual Capital City Century on Sunday, September 9, the festival will also feature food trucks, local craft beers and wine, bicycle-themed exhibitors and activities, plus recognition of the City of Springfield’s recent designation by the League of American Bicyclists as a bronze-level bicycle friendly community. Other CCC weekend events include a metric/half-metric ride on Saturday, September 8 at 10 a.m., an 8-mile tour of historic sites by bicycle on Saturday, September 8 at 1 p.m., and the 46th Annual Capital City Century on Sunday, September 9 at 7 a.m. More information about Loops-A-Palooza and the Capital City Century weekend can be obtained online at
