Memorial Medical Center’s Festival of Trees is celebrating its 30th season as a central Illinois holiday highlight. In addition to bringing holiday cheer to all ages, the annual festival also raises money for health-related projects and programs at Memorial Health System and in the Springfield community. Since 1989, the festival has raised more than $5.3 million dollars and with annual attendance of nearly 35,000 people, it has become one of the most popular family-oriented holiday traditions in central Illinois. The main attraction is a display of more than 200 creatively decorated trees and wreaths. The festival will also feature one-of-a-kind centerpieces and imaginative, hand-crafted gingerbread village structures, the Candy Cane Express Train, a sock skating rink, the Little Elves’ Workshop craft area, snapshots with Santa, a toy shop and live musical performances. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for ages 3-12 and free to ages two and under. For more information about Memorial’s Festival of Trees, visit memorialsfestivaloftrees.com or call 217-788-4301.
