Local teenagers are invited to attend a Teen Job Fair and Resource Expo hosted by the Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Illinois in partnership with the Sangamon County Juvenile Justice Council and the City of Springfield. The fair is geared towards ages 16-19 and is designed to connect youth with summer opportunities such as employment, camps and recreational services. During the fair, teens can receive help filling out job applications and may be selected to undergo on-the-spot interviews, as well as enter prize drawings and enjoy food and beverages provided by Chick-Fil-A and Heartland Coca-Cola. “Our summer job fair and resource expo is a one-stop shop for teens, unique to the Sangamon County area,” according to Tiffany Mathis, director of development and relations for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Illinois. “With over 300 teens attending the expo in 2017, we are really excited about this year’s event. … We are looking forward to an increase in teens and employers this year.” The Teen Job Fair and Resource Expo is free to attend, and parents are welcome to attend alongside their teens.
