WW2 Poem # 9

WW2 Poem # 9

maybe I've written this before but

my dad was doing 2 jobs during ww2

with such a shortage of help he ran

a milk route from 3 am then returned

to manage the details of a fifty person

farm one day his ultra zealous herdsman

came to him said "the lord has called me

to this special work in kentucky so I must

leave abruptly" my dad replied "would you

please ask our heavenly father to phone at a

more convenient time? Or suggest he dialed

a wrong number?" but the herdsman packed

up his dog cat spouse kids, pulled out pronto

some authorities you just don't quibble with
