City sidewalks, busy sidewalks

Downtown Springfield, Inc. (DSI) has teamed up with some great partners and sponsors, including the Memorial Holiday Fest, to celebrate the season in the heart of the community this year. Visit downtown Springfield to experience a winter wonderland with decorated trees and wreaths, visits with Santa, ice skating, arts and crafts and more. Stop by the participating locations such as the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum to see a gingerbread house village or the Hoogland Center for the Arts to see the "Living Window" presented by the Hoogland Kids. Santa will be welcoming kids on the Old State Capitol lawn and live entertainment will take place on the plaza. Hop on a horse-drawn carriage ride to take in the downtown holiday scene and be sure to catch the tree lighting on the Old State Capitol Plaza at 4:30 p.m., on Saturday, Nov. 27. The festivities continue through Dec. 22. Visit DSI's website at downtownspringfield.org for more information.
