J Brew and the Crew

Sometimes he goes by Jason C. Brewer, but when this talented East St. Louis native has a horn in his hand, just call him J Brew and understand he's got a "movin' groove with nothin' to prove," and that's a fact. He blows the trumpet playing the entire field, including gospel, jazz, rock and R&B, or as he puts it, "everything from bebop to hip hop," in his own way, with his own style, on his own terms. The Crew hails from Cincinnati and counts fantastically fabulous musicians Ryan Napier (keys), Sherman Napier (drums) and Robert Napier (bass) along with singing sensation Roddrick Lamar (guitar) as mighty members of the kicking combo. Along with J Crew's decades-long, heralded career that allowed him to play all over the USA with many top-name performers including Clark Terry, Branford Marsalis and Jimmy Heath, he's also the pastor of King of Kings Christian Assembly here in town and leads the congregation in prayer, praise and performance. Let's get to it, gentlemen.
