Artifacts come to life

Anybody’s Story: 200 Years of Illinoisans and Their Stuff is a series of vignettes inspired by the “Bicentennial and Beyond” exhibition at the Illinois State Museum, which features rare and rarely-seen artifacts from the museum’s 13.5 million-object Illinois Legacy Collection. During this two-hour performance, a lost tourist stumbles into the back room of an Illinois history museum and learns that even the smallest of artifacts can hold the most fascinating stories. This play is written and directed by Mark Beanblossom and produced by the Springfield Art Association of Edwards Place and the Illinois State Museum. Performance times for Anybody’s Story: 200 Years of Illinoisans and Their Stuff will be Friday and Saturday, July 6 and 7 at 7:30 p.m. at historic Edwards Place and Sunday, July 8 at 2 p.m. at the Illinois State Museum. Tickets cost $20 for the general public and $15 for Springfield Art Association members and ISM members with a discount code.
