The Animal Protective League (APL) will hold several pet adoptions during May with cats and dogs available at various locations. All animals presented by APL for adoption have been spayed or neutered, micro-chipped and have received all vaccinations.
Adoptions will be held:
- Saturday, May 11 – dogs from 11 to 2 p.m. and cats until 3 p.m. at Ace Hardware, 1600 West Wabash, Springfield
- Sunday, May 12 –cats from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at PetSmart
- Saturday, May 18 – dogs and cats from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at TitleMax, 2951 Lindbergh, near the Veterans Parkway WalMart, Springfield
- Sunday, May 19 –cats from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at PetSmart
- Saturday, May 25 - dogs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and cats until 5 p.m. at PetSmart; dogs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and cats until 3 p.m. at Ace Hardware
- Sunday, May 26 – cats from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and dogs from noon to 3 p.m. at PetSmart.
Additionally kittens are available every day during regular business hours at Gizzy Lu.
APL, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to assisting ill, injured and abandoned homeless animals, runs an animal shelter which is open every day from noon to 5 p.m. for adoptions. APL also coordinates cruelty investigations and humane education programs. APL also operates a low cost spay/neuter clinic adjacent to its Springfield shelter.
