Benld Adopt-A-Pet, a no-kill shelter, will hold a pet adoption on Sunday, May 19, at PetCo, 2721 S. Veterans Parkway, from noon to 3:30 p.m. A wide variety of cats and dogs are available through Adopt-A-Pet, all of whom are rescued, homeless animals. The dogs and cats are spayed or neutered, micro-chipped and up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations. The dogs have been heartworm-tested, and the cats tested for feline leukemia.
Adopt-A-Pet, founded in 1983, re-homes approximately 800 to 1,000 animals per year. The organization receives no government funding and is reliant on volunteers, fund-raisers and donations to care for its animals.
