Tickets are $5 each and can be reserved by sending email to pechakuchaspringfield@gmail.com. Please indicate the # of tickets, your name, address, phone, and email address. Advance payment is required. Tickets will be held at the door under the name provided in the email, unless a request is made for delivery by mail. Please make checks payable to “PechaKucha” and mail to the following: Alex Block, One Northwest Old Capitol Plaza, Springfield, IL 62701. Tickets at door are for standing room only night of show. Doors open at 5:20 p.m. (new time)! 10 presenters in May.
Local creative individuals will each make a six minute and 40 second presentation (20 slides, 20 seconds each) on a variety of topics. There is no formal mission for this group nor any set group of individuals it is designed to include; Pecha Kucha (which is based on the sound of ‘chit chat’ in Japanese) is nothing more or less than a lively event to bring imaginative people together to share inspiration and ideas as they celebrate diverse kinds of art, creativity and the many talents that are hidden within the community. Pecha Kucha is an international non-profit grass roots movement that began in Tokyo in 2003 and has spread to over 305 international communities. There are Pecha Kucha Nights taking place in Champaign, St. Louis, and Chicago – to observe other events from around the world visit the international website (http://www.pecha-kucha.org).
