Amateur musicians are invited to an instructional jam session for teaching and learning traditional music at a slow to moderate tempo in a friendly, supportive setting from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 2, at Clayville Historic Site on Ill. 125 at Pleasant Plains. It will be preceded by a half-hour lesson for beginners at 9:30. Plans are to hold monthly jams, called the “Clayville Pioneer Academy of Music,” the first Saturday of every month. The jam sessions grow out of dulcimer classes, but players of all musical instruments are welcome. All skill levels are welcome, and beginners are especially welcomed.
