Strong ticket sales for improvisational comedy troupe have forced a 3rd show to be added to the schedule. The Portuguese Rodeo Clown Company will now perform at 5pm on Saturday the 16th and tickets have begun selling at The Hoogland Center for the Arts.
This comedy show is entirely made up on the spot based completely on audience suggestions. Because of this unique formula, this cast of 5 actors has never performed the same show twice.
Formed in the mid 90's by Mark C. Holden and Johnny Molson, this group was the first independent troupe to spring from The Second City Training Center in Detroit. The ensemble cast includes the two founding members, and Patrick Russell, Mary Kate Smith, and Patrick Russell.
The “Clowns” previous shows this past August sold out the night of the shows. The brisk advance sales for the shows this weekend showed that demand would be high enough to necessitate a third show.
Friday and Saturday, Feb. 15-16 at 8 p.m.

The members of PRCC put on a two hour show that is completely invented on the stage with nothing more than quirky suggestions from the audience. The actors don't know what will happen ... and the audience has no idea where their suggestions will take the show. What you see will happen only once, and never again.
Improvisational theatre styles were first developed in Chicago by The Compass Players (Ed Asner, Alan Alda, Jerry Stiller) and continued through The Second City (John Belushi, Gilda Radner, John Candy, Mike Meyers, Tina Fey, Stephen Colbert), and were popularized on the British and American TV shows Whose Line is it Anyway (Drew Carey, Ryan Stiles, Wayne Brady, Greg Proops). $15, club room.
