DSI Awards Dinner

This year marks the 20^th anniversary of Downtown Springfield, Inc. and it’s mission of preserving, promoting and enhancing the historic central business district of Springfield.  During their twenty years, DSI, an Illinois Main Street organization,  has represented the merchants, property owners, restaurants and businesses of downtown by engaging in economic development, sustainability, historic preservation and design projects that have a positive impact on the overall vitality of our central business district.  Revenue to conduct such projects is accomplished through large specialty festivals, events, promotions, and organization membership dues.

One such event is a highly anticipated event of the year, DSI’s Annual Awards Dinner.  The event will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013 at the Hilton Springfield at 700 East Adams Street. The event begins at 5:30 pm with cocktails and silent auction; the program begins at 6:30 pm.

This don’t-miss event, including the Mayor's State of Downtown address, highlights some of DSI’s achievements during the year and awards businesses, projects, organizations, and individuals that strive to achieve DSI's goals of making Downtown the place to live, work and play.  DSI also plans to launch a fundraising campaign for a 2013 Mural Project scheduled to be held during the Taste of Downtown, July 12 and 13.

Advanced reservations are required, individual tickets are $70 per person, business tables are $560, and corporate sponsorship tables are $1,250; each table seats 8. Tickets are available online via PayPal on the DSI website at www.downtownspringfield.org. They can also be ordered and paid for in person at the DSI office, #3 West Old State Capitol Plaza, Suite 15. Proceeds from the event, which includes a silent auction, will support DSI's mission, benefit businesses and residents of Downtown and enhance community events such as the Old Capitol Farmers Market, Taste of Downtown and Old Capitol Blues & BBQs.
