"Women on the Move" and "Flavor Tripping" are just two of the sessions during this year's Illinois Women's Health Conference at the Hilton in Springfield. The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Office of Women's Health, along with the Illinois Public Health Association (IPHA), will host hundreds of public health and medical educators, dieticians, nurses, physicians, physician assistants and others interested in women's health issues during the two-day conference, which is open to the public. This year's conference topics include cardiovascular disease, the Affordable Care Act, diabetes, cancer, exercise, diet and more.

"Women on the Move" - Five Great Walking and Physical Activity Programs for Reducing Weight, Stress, Diabetes, Cancer and Heart Disease Risk, and Women's Aging is presented by Robert Sweetgall. Sweetgall has walked across America seven times, walked 11,208 miles through all 50 states in one year and authored and co-authored 17 books on walking, wellness and active living. Sweetgall will also lead Nordic Walking 101: Building Muscle, Burning Fat With the Ultimate Total-Body Walking Workout.
"Flavor Tripping" - Chef and registered dietician Golda Ewalt offers the opportunity to experience the effects of the miracle berry while learning about flavor trends and how to take your own flavor trip through the use of herbs and spices.
This conference will offer workshops, presentations and exhibits on women's health issues and provide attendees with the opportunity to learn from and network with women's health advocates from communities throughout Illinois. Attendees can visit numerous exhibitors who will be highlighting many new resources, services and programs. The conference is open to the public.
