The Illinois Small Business Development Center (ISBDC) at Lincoln Land Community College assists individuals interested in starting or growing a business. One of the many services the ISBDC offers is conducting free “Starting Your Business in Illinois” workshops for prospective business owners. Workshop topics include preparing a business plan, financing your business, legal forms (proprietorship, partnership, corporation), registering a business name and taxes.
Participants may attend a workshop in Springfield or Jacksonville. Registration is required for these November workshops:
Thursday, Nov. 1 - 6 to 8 p.m. at LLCC-Capital City Training Center, 130 W. Mason St., Springfield. Call the ISBDC at 544.7232 to register.
Wednesday, Nov. 14 - 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at LLCC-Capital City Training Center, 130 W. Mason St., Springfield. Call the ISBDC at 544.7232 to register.
Monday, Nov. 26 - 9 to 11 a.m. at Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce, 155 W. Morton, Jacksonville. Call 245-2174 to register.
In addition to the workshops, the ISBDC at LLCC provides small businesses assistance in writing a business plan, creating financial projections, improving business marketing, increasing sales, personnel management, sources of credit financing, international trade and much more. Most of the services and programs provided by the ISBDC are offered at no cost to the client.
