The Decatur Children’s Museum, WAND-TV and Pepsi proudly sponsor the annual Halloween concerts performed by Millikin University’s Percussion Ensembles. Millikin’s percussion ensembles will perform three special concerts to celebrate Halloween on Thursday, Oct. 25 at 7:30 p.m. and Friday, Oct. 26 at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. in the infamously haunted Albert Taylor Theatre in Shilling Hall. Millikin’s percussion ensembles are under the direction of Brian Justison, associate professor of music and coordinator of percussion studies at Millikin University. Guests are invited to join the ensemble in costume for this all-ages, family-friendly event of the season. Best costume awards will be given. This event will serve as a fundraiser for Millikin students to attend the Percussive Arts Society International Convention. For more information on Millikin’s percussion ensembles, visit www.millikin.edu/percussion. Tickets for the event are $8 (free for Millikin students with a student ID) and may be purchased at the Kirkland Fine Arts Center Box Office, by phone at 217-424-6318 or online at www.kirklandfinearts.com. Box Office hours are Monday – Tuesday and Thursday – Friday from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. A $2.50 fee will be charged for credit card purchases. This is a per transaction fee, not per ticket, and applies to online and Box Office orders. The Millikin University percussion studio and ensembles represent one of the finest undergraduate programs of its kind. Its goal is to develop the highest possible level of musicianship and an appropriate proficiency in performance, teaching, technology, or program administration depending on the curriculum of study chosen by the student.
