Artist in Residence Reception

Saturday November 17,2012

603 S. Fifth St
217-524-0901

The “Artist in Residence” program series at the Vachel Lindsay Home State Historic Site continues with an exhibit of art by Williamsville artist Hugh Moore, whose work will be on display in the home the week of Nov. 17.  There will be a public reception Saturday, Nov. 17 from 2 to 4 p.m. where visitors can meet the artist.

Hugh will be presenting artworks in various media as well as a new song he will premier that afternoon. The song, “Rhymes To Be Traded for Bread” is in honor of Vachel Lindsay’s birthday (Nov. 10). This event is free and open to the public. Hugh’s artwork will remain on display at the Vachel Lindsay Home through November 30.

Hugh Moore is an artist, composer, poet, and the host of WQNA’s Saturday morning variety show, Flyover Zone.

The “Artist in Residence” series is co-sponsored by the Vachel Lindsay Association. The Vachel Lindsay Home State Historic Site at 603 S. Fifth Street, Springfield, is the birthplace and longtime residence of poet, author and artist Nicholas Vachel Lindsay, 1879-1931.  It is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for free public tours.
