The PJ SUMMERS BAND is often asked if they are a “Christian band” or if they play “Christian music”.  Their response is usually in the form of “We are a band whose members happen to be Christians.”  The six member group, founded by PJ Summers and Mike Camerano in 2003, has a unique and soulful style that incorporates elements of rock, jazz, pop and afro-Cuban influences.

Vocalist PJ Summers discovered his musical gift in an unconventional way.  While on a mission trip to Africa, he was asked to lead music at the worship services, simply because he had brought along a guitar given to him by his uncle.  Though he knew only a few basic chords and didn't think of himself as a singer, he accepted the opportunity.  

Seemingly overnight he became a very good guitar player with an incredibly soulful voice, capable of deep emotional expression.   Partnering with five exceptional musicians, the band has grown into a talented mixture of musical artistry and faith-based ministry.  The group shares a ‘down to earth’ atmosphere with their listening audiences, which is a direct reflection of the humility and thankfulness the members of the PJ SUMMERS BAND feel about where God has brought them.

Continuing to evolve in His plan, the PJ SUMMERS BAND looks forward to a bright spiritual and musical future.  Whether playing to groups of 5,000 or 50 people, the members know that they are exactly where He wants them to be.  Take a listen; you will also be part of the journey.
