Ric Major (Skippy) has finally given the band permission to call themselves "Central Illinois' Hottest Country Band".. Thanks Skip!!
The band has played around the area for years, but with the edition of Kelsey Hickman in 2009, have become one of the top draw bands in Central Illinois.
In addition to Kelsey, the band is made up of 4 more prime time players in the Central Illinois music scene:
* Pat McCue - Lead Vocals, Backing Vocals, Keyboards, & Guitar
* Donny Hinkle - Lead Guitar
* Bill Wikoff - Drums
* John Peters - Bass Guitar
2009 was a great year as the band opened for Lady Anebellum at the Sangamon County Fair, in front of 7,000 people. They also played to packed houses at the Illinois State Fair Bud Tent, Miller Tent, & The Shed.
In 2010, the band was proud to be asked to play with Nashville acts Candy Coburn, Tracy Lawrence & Confederate Railroad. In July, the band made their debut at the Chatham Sweetcorn Festival, playing in front of 7,000 fans! In late 2010, the band was named Favorite Band in the Illinois Times Readers Poll
2011 brought SK the award for Favorite Band in the Illinois Times Reader's Poll. This was the band's 2nd straight year winning this award. The band also shared the stage with Lonestar at the Logan County Fair.
2012 brought another Illinois Times Readers Poll award for Favorite Band. The band also shared the stage with Chris Young at the PCCC in Springfield in September. The band also enjoyed packed events at the Illinois State Fair, Chatham Sweetcorn Festival, Chatham Homecoming, & Pawnee Prairie Days.
The band has one of the most loyal group of fans in Central Illinois. It nice to see these folks come out to support the band each & every time Still Kick'n takes the stage!
