The Legendary Drifters

By Tom Irwin

The Legendary Drifters, a quality representation of the Drifters, one of the most dynamic and influential singing groups in rock ’n’ roll history, slide into town again after a superb performance last October. Sadly, all the founding members of the four-time Grammy-winning Drifters have passed on to sing classics such as, Under the Board Walk, This Magic Moment, There Goes My Baby and Save the Last Dance for Me in doo-wop heaven. But lucky for us, Hollywood Logan, a longtime member of the later, touring Drifters, along with Paul Rudy, a working part of the traveling group for more than 30 years, joined forces to revive the spectacular songs, impeccable harmonies and sweet style that put the Drifters into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and reigned supreme in the days before computer-enhanced and digitally generated product ruled the airwaves. This concert includes a special tribute to Colonel Gary T. Schmitt, retiring from the Army after 32 years of service.
