Irish infusion

By Anita Stienstra

The Music of Ireland: Then and Now is the theme of the St. Patrick’s Day parade Saturday, March 16, at high noon in downtown Springfield. Parade marshal, Jim McDonough, who was a past parade president and is a United Cerebral Palsy and Saint Patrick School volunteer, will be accompanied by almost 100 entries including: floats, school bands, Ansar Shriner clowns and cars, police and fire departments and more. The parade route starts at Horace Mann on Jefferson, proceeds west to Fifth Street, south to Capitol Ave., then north on Sixth Street and east on Washington Ave. Emceed by Amie Menenghetti of COOL 101.9 and Liz Willis of 100.5 WYMG, the reviewing stand is located in the family-friendly area on Sixth Street. Lots of info and a map are at www.springfieldirish.org.
