I wish people like this cartoonist would educate themselves before they attempt to influence readers about subjects. The .223 round used in "assult weapons" is actually one of the least powerful rounds available in the handgun and rifle category. Its just misplaced media attention without knowledge that leads people to believe things like this cartoon is attempting to protray.
I have to say I usually get a chuckle out of Britt’s work (heck I have a couple tacked to my bulletin board.) But I really think he ought to go back and review his history on this one. The second amendment wasn’t about hunting it was about being able to protect yourself from an oppressive government. Our rights have been systematically eroded all under the pretense of “our safety” (The patriot act and now gun control laws) all meant to “protect us” from harm when in fact it’s all a ruse to turn the American people into sheep. All of which makes Chris’s cartoon… Baaaad!
Chris Britt has successfully illustrated what most anti-gun folks seem to all have in common........a lack of information and facts about firearms, and apparently hunting in Illinois. First off, it is illegal to hunt deer with a rifle in Illinois. Com'on Chris, do a little homework before showing your ignorance. In addition, the most popular caliber for an AR is the .223. If you shot a deer with a .223 round, it would probably leave a hole in it the size of a quarter. This cartoon is a perfect example of how the anti-gun media goes about trying to "educate" other anti-gun advocates. My only question is why there are no national face-to-face debates about gun control. I would love to see this face-to-face debate because there is no factual information that anti-gun advocates can fall back on, only emotion. That's why there are no face-to-face debates.
